Join us for an evening of short films and discussion with Caoimhe Butterly, Sean Binder and MASI – Movement of Asylum Seekers Ireland.
People continue to take perilous journeys due to the lack of safe routes to protection and more recently we have seen a rise in the criminalisation of humanitarian responses and actors – who are now facing severe consequences for their life saving actions. And what of the few people who arrive to Ireland? How is our nation treating the men, women and children who have come to our shores seeking safety?
We will explore these issues with our guests and hear directly from people who have assisted on the frontline of Europe’s humanitarian crisis and from people who have experienced first-hand Ireland’s asylum process and reception system.
There will also be some stalls showcasing migrant led business ventures and we invite people to hang back after the discussion to chat and mingle over tea and coffee.
